NL// Van psychedelische cumbia over 70’s afrobeat tot folk uit het Midden-Oosten: de unieke, ietwat duistere combinatie van westerse surfgitaren met een breed scala aan genres deed The Phantom Four uitgroeien tot een van ’s werelds meest iconische instrumentale groepen. Samenwerkingen met onder meer Rudeboy en nummers als ‘A Forest’, ‘Morphological Echo’ en ‘Morgana’ brachten de Amsterdamse band sinds 2004 naar alle uithoeken van de wereld. Next in line: DC!

Zo combineren Les Agamemnonz de reverb en dansbeat van surfmuziek uit de vroege 60’s met de filmische orkestrale texturen van vintage Spaghettiwesterns en moderne Tarantino-filmmuziek. Het resultaat? Strakke ritmes en grensverleggende instrumentals die perfect tot uiting komen op hun drie studioalbums.

EN// These toga-wearing guys from Rouen distinguish themselves by their ability to quote their classics (The Ventures, The Astronauts) while creating their own sound. Accordingly, Les Agamemnonz combine the reverb and dance beat of early 60’s surf music with the cinematic orchestral textures of vintage Spaghetti westerns and modern Tarantino film music. EN// Stories of Shamehill takes you on a roaring journey, from the salty sea breeze to the scorching desert heat. The reverb-drenched, unpolished sound of this instrumental surf trio wouldn’t look out of place in an obscure Tarantino movie, but on Saturday the 5th of April, the three-piece shares its relentless uptempo bangers and plain ol’ wave-riders on stage at DC.

Gitaren gedrenkt in reverb, stampende drumbeats en donderachtige bassen doen de emoties van menig liefhebber ongenadig uitbarsten: het hoeft dus niet te verbazen dat het Turnhoutse trio een sterke reputatie heeft opgebouwd in de scene.

EN// Backed by instrumental mastery and an infinite amount of energy, Slingshot Bikini doesn’t need any vocals to put on a wild and infectious live performance. Guitars drenched in reverb, pounding drum beats and thunderous basses make fans’ emotions erupt mercilessly: needless to say, the trio from Turnhout has built a strong reputation in the scene.

In 2025 zet hij de keet nogmaals op zijn kop, deze keer met zijn favoriete platen!

EN// In 2024, we were pleased to welcome Jens De Waele to De Casino as the bassist of two legendary bands in the genre. With Fifty Foot Combo and Thee Andrews Surfers, he injected a shot of adrenaline into our musical bloodstreams during dirty, wild and infectious performances. In 2025, he will turn DC upside down once again, this time with his favorite records!
